Overview:
Sigma Squared is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. As a vital member of the growing team, you will collaborate closely with the CTO and Senior Data Scientists to craft and execute data strategies. Your role will involve collecting and cleaning data from diverse sources, applying advanced statistical techniques to derive actionable insights, and creating robust machine learning models. Your ability to automate processes and effectively communicate statistical findings to non-technical stakeholders will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Support to Senior Data Scientists:
- Collaborate on data collection, cleaning, and integration efforts from various sources.
- Apply advanced statistical procedures and machine learning algorithms to extract meaningful insights.
Innovative Problem Solver:
- Research and propose solutions to complex data analytics challenges.
- Design and implement algorithms that address specific business needs and improve processes.
Process Automation and Integration:
- Automate data workflows and integrate systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure seamless data pipelines and integration with existing infrastructure.
Visual Communication of Insights:
- Create compelling data visualizations and reports that effectively communicate statistical insights to non-technical customers.
- Translate technical findings into actionable business recommendations.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education and Expertise:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or related quantitative fields. Pre-MBA and Pre-PhD students are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist.
- Proficiency in R or STATA; advanced proficiency in Python.
- Deep understanding of machine learning techniques and programming principles.
Analytical Proficiency:
- Exceptional grasp of statistics, multivariable calculus, and linear algebra.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and proficiency in visualization languages (e.g., ggplot, matplotlib).
- Experience with generative AI models
- Ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear and actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
